How can I view, modify, or cancel my event registration?

The Profile page lists all of the events for which you have registered with links to cancel or modify your registration. Please do not email us regarding cancellations or changes of shift availability. Due to the number of requests, we will be unable to respond.

Do I need to be a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to assist?

No. As per Texas law, you do not need to be a Registered Dental Assistant to assist. However, if you are RDA licensed, you need to bring a copy of your license or a State Board-issued copy (link to TSBDE info).

What do I need to bring?

Please bring your dental license or a Texas State Board-issued copy, as well as your DEA number.

What kind of work will I be doing as a volunteer?

There is a wide range of tasks necessary for TMOM event. Jobs may include (but are not limited to) filling out registration paperwork with patients, moving patients from one station to the next, educating children and adults about oral health, or serving food to patients or volunteers. Due to the difficulties of assigning hundreds of people very far in advance, the majority of volunteer positions are assigned the day of the event, when you arrive. We appreciate your patience. If you hold a valid Dental Hygiene License, you can also work on one of our hygiene chairs, providing cleanings to patients.

What kind of work will I be doing as a volunteer?

D1 and D2 students can work in vitals, move patients around and be at a dental chair on the treatment floor as a "gofer". If all of these areas are full, they may help out with any community volunteer activity.

What kind of work will I be doing as a volunteer?

D3 students can do vitals, assist DDS or D4  on the treatment floor. After December of D3, may do some treatment if DDS or D4 allows(with professor permission).

D4 students can treat patients(as long as they stay in the 30-45 minute guideline and work in pairs).

If all of these areas are full, they may help out with any community volunteer activity.
